Indian Gaming Law and Policy ~ Making Oil Trains Safer? ~ Middle East Expert Roby Barrett

  Monday, September 29 – University of North Dakota law professors Kathryn Rand and Steven Light have recently completed an update on their book on Indian gaming law and policy. The updates involve “off-reservation” casinos, tribal-state politics, land acquisition, tribal recognition, on-line gaming, and the effect of the Great Recession. ~~~ The pressure is on in North Dakota to make oil trains more safe. Emily Guerin reports as part of our “Inside Energy” series. ~~~ Dr. Roby C. Barrett is a senior fellow with the Joint Special Operations University and the U.S. Special Operations Command, both at McDill Air Force Base. He’s also a scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington. He’ll be conducting a seminar on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the End of the National State in the Levant tomorrow at NDSU. He stops by with a preview.
