Making Grimm Movies
Making Grimm Movies: Folktales Into Film is a three-part media literacy series targeted for middle and high school students. This series focuses on how to write or construct media. It explains the basic concepts allowing media-makers to manipulate the time and space necessary to create a fictional view of reality. The series draws on examples from the sixteen-part folktale series, From the Brothers Grimm. Lessons are taught through first-hand stories told by key production staff, including some actors and crew members who are still in high school themselves.
The series has the literature-based curriculum in mind. The programs reinforce the importance of interdisciplinary learning in the creative process.
