Science Simply Amazing
Created in partnership with the National PTA and the leading science and education organizations, this program will help parents become familiar with how children best learn science as described in the National Science Education Standards. It includes tips, community resources, and simple activities parents can do with elementary school-aged children to encourage an early interest in science.
See science inquiry and learning in a first-grade classroom where students analyze, explore, ask questions, and develop problem-solving skills; in a parent-child “family science” museum workshop; and in casual activities at home. This program also counters common stereotypes about who scientists are.
