Each summer, the woods of Northern and Central Minnesota echo the sounds of the Native American powwow. Now, you can take an informative and entertaining look at the dancing, singing, regalia, and spiritual essence of the powwow that makes it one of the prairie region’s truly rich cultural experiences.
Includes footage of powwows at Red Lake, Leech Lake, and Ball Club along with performances by the Eyabay Singers from Red Lake with lead singer Lee Lussier, Jr.
Men’s Traditional Dancers feature John and Jay Barrett from Ponemah. Men’s Grass Dancers are Frank Defoe from Red Lake and Andrew Jackson of Inger. Women’s Jingle Dancers feature Clara, Selma, Norma, and Tarah Jackson of Inger and Carol Barrett of Pohemah.
