The
central character in all of the programs is professional actor and
musician David Babcock, who plays the role of a teacher. Mr. Babcock
was selected because he combines a natural warmth and credibility
with a vitality that captures and holds children's attention.
Each
program consists of a number of segments designed to develop a single
nutritional concept. Although the format is designed to make the
programs lively and entertaining, the educational content will always
be the basis of each segment. The content of the programs is as
follows: The four food groups, how we grow, vitamins and minerals,
how we get our energy, exercise, what makes us fat or thin (calories),
digestion, and how to choose our food.
