At the close of the 19th Century advancing expansion, broken
government promises, and hatred by the military establishment left Native
Americans with little land or territory and a vanishing culture. Four
Native Americans emerged, not just to protect their territory, but also
their people and culture. This revision of Americas Great Indian
Leaders focuses on the lower primary-middle school level where Native
Americans are most widely studied, through age-appropriate scripting and
narration.
