Information and Registration

Description

Carbon footprint, climate change, and greenhouse gases are sprinkled throughout the
media and in everyday conversations. But what do they really mean—scientifically and
for our daily lives?

This Teacher Institute will use Master Teachers presenting Model Lessons using video
clips and documentaries, various technologies and STEM instructional strategies that can
stimulate students’ thinking and learning about:

  • the changing levels of  CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere through time,
  • the major types of carbon storage,
  • human sources of  CO2 emissions,
  • the relationship of emissions to our economy and quality of life,
  • what will it take to change the current emissions situation, and
  • what this means in our region and for other regions of the world.
