Prairie Region Teacher Training Institute: Integrating Regional History, Culture, Science and the Arts is a workshop for PreK-12 educators from Minnesota and North Dakota. Master teachers model lessons that integrate history, culture, science, and the arts using media and other web-based technology. The teachers engage in a facilitated discussion following the lesson, thus internalizing and applying what they observed. This research-based workshop model receives high praise from everyone involved.

Partners

The Prairie Region Teacher Training Institute is funded by The Energy and Environmental Research Center’s The Plains CO2 Reduction (PCOR) Partnership project, the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, and the North Central Council for School Television in partnership with Prairie Public.

Benefits

One Professional Development Credit from NDSU is available for completion of the class. Teachers MUST develop a Media-Rick Lesson Plan as part of the class requirements. They may also receive a $100 stipend once the lesson plan has been submitted and approved by Prairie Public Education Services. Minnesota Continuing Education Units are available at no cost to the teacher.
