U Siebe
The Germans From Russia was selected
for competition in the Third Annual International Ethnic
Film Festival in Krakow, Poland. The Germans From Russia was
one of 26 programs selected for the final round of judging
by the festival committee from a field of 186 entries from
around the world.
"I was in the audience during the festival screening for
the public," said producer Bob Dambach. "I got goose bumps
when I heard the audience gasp at the opening images -- and
laugh at the jokes even though many didn't speak English
very well. This project was meant to speak to the heart.
It's gratifying to know it hit the mark." The Germans
From Russia was the only program selected from North
America. The festival is sponsored by Polish Television and
the European Ethnic Broadcasting Association.
