Our teaching guide was prepared jointly by Prairie Public Television and North Dakota State University Libraries to enhance your classroom use of this exciting documentary. The Germans From Russia: Children of the Steppe, Children of the Prairie traces the origin and rich history of an ethnic group which has played an important role in the hisory of the Great Plains.

In-class viewing of the entire 55 minute video is not required; the program has been divided into four segment which may be viewed seperately. Each section of the teaching guide includes an overview of the video segment, related topics to explore, in-class activities, web site activities, and a timeline of critical dates in German Russian and world history.
