Some landscape artists paint with watercolor or
oil. Some paint with fabric and thread. Kris Jacobson decided to that,
instead of piecing or appliqué, she'd add details to her landscape
quilt by using some of the fabulous threads that are available. The
trees, the bush, the setting sun are all added by machine embroidery.
But Kris told me she had no idea how many spools of thread it would
eat up to do this much embellishment. No matter how much it was, it
was worth it.
