It's no wonder this beautiful quilt by Dorothy
Smith was selected best of show. The quilt is a testiment to the importance
of fabric selection. The muted color scheme was sparked by with richer,
more vibrant splashes of red and gold. Dorothy also used a variety
of scale in the prints she selected - some florals, some geometrics;
some tiny calicos, some larger in scale. The meticulous hand quilting
throughout and especially in the wide inner border showed Dorothy's
trademark workmanship.
