Crazy Quilt
by Rosaleen Bruce
LARGE VIEW
| DETAIL

This wonderful example of crazy quilting was made
by a Metis woman from the Turtle Mountain region of North Dakota in
the 1920s. It shows the influence of Chippewa beadwork in the rich
floral motifs and animal figures. The finely crafted embroidery took
years of work to complete this luxurious bed sized quilt from silks
and velvets.
