Flatbrod (Finnish Barley Flatbread)
Preheat oven to 425. In a large bowl, combine the flows with the sugar, baking powder, and salt. With a fork or pastry lender, cut in the lard until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix the buttermilk with the baking sofa and stir into the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Grease and flour a large pizza pan or cookie sheet. Pat dough out to about 1/2 inch thickness and pierce all over with a fork. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned but not hard. |
