Perhaps the most unusual of the profiles in "Adding Value" is Norm and Lynette Boehm's Dakota Worms Manufacturing. Norm and Lynette raise Red Worms in their adjacent shed. Why do they raise Worms you ask? They take the worm castings and make fertilizer out of the compost. Worm fertilizer is especially favored and liked by gardeners and farmers. While farming is still their main source of income, sales of Worm Castings has greatly helped them stay on their family farm. Lynette has become attached her thousands of worms, "It's fun to come out in the shed and play in the boxes, it's cool to pick up the worms and feel them crawling around in your hand". Norm isn't quite as attached to their "pets" saying he sometimes has to remind Lynette to come back into the house because they have things to do.
