Greg Kempel is absolutely stunned at the success of his winery located in downtown Casselton. Greg doesn't have his own vineyard, but what he does is pay North Dakota farmers who bring in Rhubarb or Pumpkins or whatever the crop that Greg might be making into Wine. "It's a way for farmers to get paid and to take ownership in the Wine we are manufacturing" says Greg. Greg also offers tours of his Winery and thus far he's had people from almost every state in the union come through. When Prairie Public was in Casselton videotaping Maple River Winery, newlyweds Mel and Brian Kolstad from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin even stopped in for a tour. Mel says the wine is outstanding and as good as anything they've ever tasted during their many wine tours.
