To receive the
4 semester credits for this course, in addition to assignments of
dot.com, you must:
1. Enroll for CIS354
through The University of Mary, Fargo Center. It is not necessary
to apply for admission at the University before taking this course.
Tuition at the University of Mary is $290 per semester hour credit.
The total tuition for 4 credits is $1,160.
2. Acquire the
text, "Learning Web Design" by Jennifer Niederst. It is
published by O-Reilly & Associates. The ISBN is 0-596-00036-7.
The cost of the book is about $25.00 and is available through Amazon.com,
BarnesandNoble.com, or your local bookstore.
3. Complete
all of the requirements of dot.com, as listed on the web site. This
includes recommended readings and seven hands-on lessons.
4. In addition
to the dot.com activities, students receiving college credit must
also complete further reading assignments and two tests which can
be taken online. A final project is required. The final project
is described below.
The
Great Outdoors Final Project
Required Elements
As your final
project for this course, you will develop Phase One of your plan
for The Great Outdoors web site. You may choose to use material
you developed for lab assignments or exercises as part of the final
project. Be creative with your approach in ways that will meet the
strategic plan for The Great Outdoors. You may use any graphics
or text provided in the course materials or create your own. If
you decide to build pages about products or services you have not
been given content for, you may develop your own which will count
extra toward your final grade.
