To quote a line from the film Field of Dreams, "if we build it,
they will come". Current accommodations, personnel, and food
service are built around seasonal work crews and consumptive wild
life recreation hunting and fishing. The fish camp style accommodations
and limited food offerings made available to this predominately male
group are not acceptable to gender balanced wildlife viewers comprised
of 48.3% male and 51.7% female participants.
To successfully market itself as an eco-tourism destination, North
Dakota must engage in customer centered development activities including
enhancements in accommodations, food services, interpretation and
authentic memorabilia.
