Dr.
Mom Home Remedies
Often, relief is
what we want for ourselves and our children. If an antibiotic
isn't recommended, what WILL help colds, sniffles, sore throats,
coughs, aches and pains?
Dr. Mom's Prescription
Rx
-
Drink lots: all fluids are good; warm fluids seem to provide
the most relief. Try hot tea, warm jello and hot water with
lemon .
-
Use a cool mist vaporizer or saline nasal spray to relieve
congestion.
-
Use Vicks Vapo-Rub -- even if it doesn't really DO anything,
doesn't it just smell like it should be helping?
-
Soothe a sore throat with ice chips, sore throat spray,
or by sucking on hard candies.
-
As an alternative, try sucking on gummy bears.
-
Stay moderately active -- read, do puzzles, play board games.
Boredom makes you feel worse!
-
Don't forget Chicken Soup!
-
Wash your hands often...and sing Yankee Doodle while you're
doing it!
