Weather
It's cold on the Northern Prairie. It keeps some people from coming to
the area. Others arrive but leave after a few winters. The ones that stay
find that the weather isn't a significant negative factor. In fact, the
weather in many cases is a positive factor. When you live on the northern
prairie you have to be ready to deal with changing conditions. You have
to adapt, put on an extra layer or take of a layer or change directions
or alter plans. People in other parts of the country find that those who
grew up in the upper mid-west are much more flexible and able deal with
adversity in productive ways than their more temperate climate peers.
