Diverse Ethnic Origins
French, Belgian, Dutch, Italian, and other European immigrants joined
Lebanese (Syrian), Greek, Chinese, Japanese, African, and Indian immigrants
in sparse numbers. The 1910 and 1920 Census figures show a total of 709
Dutch, 662 Turkish, 456 Belgian, 350 French, 289 Syrian, and 420 Greek,
had immigrated to North Dakota.
