About This Program

Anne Larson

Anne Larson of Aberdeen, South Dakota (pictured here in traditional German Russian garb) delighted Schmeckfest viewers with her Easter breads - fiegele (little birds) and kranse (crown of thorns).

In 1898, Anne's parents, Frederick and Rosina Roesch, left Gluekstal, Russia, for the United States, where they then settled in South Dakota. Of the fourteen children of Frederick and Rosina's, Anne is the last to survive.
