Prairie Public radio staff take home Associated Press awards
FARGO, N.D., September 12, 2006North Dakota Public Radio has been
honored with seven first- and three second-place North Dakota Associated
Press Broadcasters Association awards. The awards will be presented to
the NDPR news team membersDave Thompson, Todd McDonald and Tracy
Fugereat the annual Associated Press meeting.

The non-profit networks news department received first in feature
with Mock Trial, reported by Todd McDonald; first in enterprise
for Smoke, reported by Dave Thompson; first in continuing
story for BRAC, reported by Todd McDonald; first in political
reporting for Veterinary, reported by Dave Thompson; first
in agriculture for Farm Cost, by Tracy Fugere; first in series-documentary
for Get Moving, reported by Todd McDonald and first in use
of sound for Bush Rally, reported by Tracy Fugere.
The news team took second in feature for Sun Race, reported
by Todd McDonald; second in political reporting for Budget,
reported by Dave Thompson and second in best use of sound for Leetun,
reported by Tracy Fugere.
The North Dakota Associated Press Broadcasters Association annual competition,
established in 1978, is open to stations from North Dakota and surrounding
states, and stories submitted are judged by broadcast peers from other
states. North Dakota Public Radio has won numerous awards from the Associated
Press over the years.
