What is digital television (DTV)?

The television picture you currently receive is based on an analog transmission system that is more than 50 years old. In December, 1996, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the U.S. standard for a new era of television and digital television.

For those who enjoy and learn from interactive media, particularly young learners, digital television will make TV sets more like computers and computers more like TV sets!
