"Fargo Winter Carnivale"
|
|
Today is the second annual Fargo Winter Carnivale, which
is being held from 2 until 12:30 at the historic Fargo Theatre. There
will be 24 bands, as well as films, art, stand-up comedy and a wearable
art fashion show.
The event is a grassroots effort organized by The Abandoned
Scout Camp, which last year pooled their artistic resources to create
a festival featuring 20 different bands. But they didnt stop there.
While groups of three bands would set up in the dark, young film-makers
were showcasing their work on the big screen, and on the walls, slide
projectors were presenting the work of visual artists.
One media outlet that took an active interest last year
was National Geographic, which happened to be in town that week doing
a story... our writer happens to know they enjoyed it. A lot.
