In the 1930’s, drought covered the entire Great Plains for almost a decade. With it, the drought brought other dangers.

The Fargo Forum on this date in 1936, tells of Mr. Adam Plotski, a farmer near Werner, ND.

Usually the job of gathering eggs isn’t such a bad job on the farm. Unless of course you find a large rattlesnake coiled around the nest!

The drought had resulted in snakes moving into farmyards.

Fortunately, the large rattler, with sixteen rattles, was killed by Mr. Plotski.

Yet another example of how dangerous farming can be!
