The world we live in.

Assiniboine Park: A Park For All Seasons

Clean, Clear Water
For three years, Fargo residents watched the new water treatment plant spring up on 13th Avenue South. The building and all of its state-of-the-art technology in water treatment replaced the city's first water treatment plant -- —a facility that served the city for 85 years. EcoTourism
Prairie Public Television's documentary EcoTourism examines what North Dakota is doing to attract its share of the 80 million travelers who will hit the road this year looking for a new kind of vacation adventure. Nature-based tourism, also called eco-tourism, is the fastest growing kind of travel in the country.
FM River
The communities of Fargo and Moorhead depend on the Red River of the North, the main source of drinking water for the community. The FM River project brings together student and community volunteers to monitor the water quality and provide up-to-date information for scientists, community leaders, and government officials.
More Precious Than Gold
Examine the important issues facing North Dakota and the questions the region must answer about its future. What must we do to improve the supply and quality of water on the Indian reservations, to rural residents, to small communities with antiquated infrastructure, and to large population centers outgrowing their current water sources? How will we supply water to our growing population centers in times of drought? Will we be able to meet our own water needs and the demands of upstream and downstream concerns? How can we answer concerns about biota transfer? What can be done to ensure that every North Dakotan has an adequate supply of high quality, affordable water?
Nature in the Balance: CO2 Sequestration
Focuses on the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory's (NETL's) seven Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships and describes their role in assessing opportunities for reducing CO2 emissions worldwide to reduce the risk of global warming.
RiverWatch
The Red River of the North winds through the prairie region on its northward path the Hudson Bay. Learn more along the way about the river, the cities that depend on it for water and recreation, the habitat it provides to wildlife, and the history of this important region. During spring each year, RiverWatch provides flood updates and weather forecasts.
Winnipeg in Bloom
With little more than 100 frost-free days and from clay-laden prairie soils, the passionate gardeners of Winnipeg grow outstanding gardens. Shot in high-definition, this Prairie Public Television production presents Winnipeg gardens at their best.
