posted on 05/13/2013

Monday, May 13 – Cheryl Wachenheim, a professor in NDSU’s agribusiness and applied economics department is also a major in the Minnesota National Guard. She was deployed to Afghanistan, where she put her agribusiness background to work mentoring Afghan businesswomen.  She visits with Ashley Thornberg and you can see pictures on our Facebook page. ~~~ Last week came the news of 17 launch officers being relieved of their duty at the Minot Air Force Base. They were important jobs during the Cold War, but are they still relevant today? To add some perspective, we visit with Mark Hintermeyer, former Air Force Lt. Col., who served 22 years in missile operations, including 3 years in Minot training launch officers. ~~~ Today an essay from new commentator Kim Crowley, assistant professor of English at Bismarck State College: “Modernization.”
