Oil Patch Emergencies ~ Cross Cultural Adoption ~ Northern Climate Grapes

posted on 05/16/2013

Thursday, May 16 – The Williams County Disaster Emergency Services Office has its hands full these days, with hopes that recent legislation will provide some relief. We visit with Mike Hallesy, director of emergency services and county 911. ~~~ Two pieces on Morning Edition on NPR caught our attention, and we thought them worthy of rebroadcast. The first deals with a summit in South Dakota to discuss the issue of Native American children being placed in white foster homes. The second has to do with varieties of grapes for wine being developed for northern climates. ~~~ Tom Isern has this week’s Plains Folk column, “Shooting Wells.” ~~~ Doug and Ashley have our “What’s Happening” calendar of events.
