posted on 02/25/2014Tuesday, February 25 – “6 Brothers, a Story of Hope, Loss and Perseverance on the Northern Plains,” is a feature-length production from producer Daniel Stenberg. It dives deeply into his grandfather’s story, one of six brothers born to homesteaders in Western North Dakota. It makes its Prairie Public debut tomorrow night. Also joining us is Bob Dambach, director of television for Prairie Public. ~~~ In part 7 of NPR’s “The Great Plains Oil Rush,” Dan Boyce reports on the rise in prostitution. ~~~ Another product of the oil rush is the need to transport the oil to market, which has created issues elsewhere, including Washington State. We have a report from Martha Baskin. ~~~ Bruce Berg commentary: “Props and Pillars” ~~~ Tom Isern has this week’s Plains Folk essay, “Bed Bugs.”
