Olympic Curling Trials ~ Celtic Thunder ~ Heritage Center Update

  Thursday, October 17 – The Olympic trials for curling will be held in Fargo this year, attracting teams from around the country, and there are opportunities for the public to get involved. Ashley Thornberg stops by Scheels Arena to get a preview from Elisa Kay Boettcher. ~~~ Celtic Thunder brings their spectacular show to Grand Forks next week. The show is a perennial favorite with public broadcasting fans, and we get a behind-the-scenes look today as we visit with performer Neil Byrne. ~~~ An excerpt from Friday’s Prairie Pulse television show as Prairie Public president John Harris visits with Claudia Berg of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Also from Prairie Pulse, former MSUM English professor Mark Vinz reflects on Minnesota writer Sinclair Lewis in a piece produced by Kim Stenehjem. ~~~ Doug and Ashley have our What’s Happening calendar of events. ~~~ It’s a sign of the fall season: the annual bird migration.
