Landscape Interventions … “Did You Know That?”

posted on 12/14/2011

Wednesday, December 14 – NDSU landscape architecture students have tackled the Red River Basin flooding problem by studying millions of acres – from the Turtle Mountains to the Minnesota lakes – and they’ve designed 30 large-scale projects to address the social and ecological issues in ecosystems prone to flooding and drought. Joining us is adjunct faculty member Dominic Fischer and and students Mohan Pai, Jesse Riley and Zach Saeger. We also visit with Curt Eriksmoen, author and columnist of “Did You Know That…?” He’s now issued his 5th volume in this popular series of North Dakota tidbits. Also joining us is his editor and wife, Jan. ~~~ Jon Offutt remembers artist Bob Kurkowski, who influenced countless youngsters. He passed away this week. (This interview aired at 6:44pm, as part of All Things Considered, but we include it here at the conclusion of the Hear It Now show. You can also launch that interview separately, by clicking HERE.)
