Drone Technology ~ Recognizing Drug-Impaired Drivers
posted on 12/12/2012Wednesday, December 12 – The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department will be leasing a miniature helicopter drone from the University of North Dakota. How will it be used? We get the details from Alan Frazier, assistant professor of aviation at UND, who will be the pilot for the drone. ~~~ The North Dakota Department of Transportation began the Drug Recognition Expert Program in 1999, and there are now 45 Drug Recognition Experts in the state. The purpose is to train law enforcement officers how to recognize impairment in drivers who are under the influence of legal or illegal drugs.
