posted on 10/01/2013

Tuesday, October 1 – Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte moved to Wahpeton after her family’s escape from Azerbaijan. To document the experience, she wrote a book for her family at age 14, based on her diaries. That book, “Nowhere, a Story of Exile,” has since been published to great acclaim, and she’s currently on a ten event tour in North Dakota. ~~~ Horticulturist Ron Smith stops in to answer some recent yard and garden questions. (tuftruck1@gmail.com) ~~~ Today is the last day on the job for Chuck Haga, reporter and columnist for the Grand Forks Herald. He stops by to reflect on his many years in the news business. ~~~ NDSU historian Tom Isern has this week’s Plains Folk essay, “Wild Horses in Wishek.”
