posted on 10/16/2013

Wednesday, October 16 – One concern about the oil development in North Dakota is the salty water brought to the surface. Some concerned landowners in Bottineau County have invited officials and the public to tour 1,000 acres of salt-damaged farmland. Joining us are tour organizers Donnie Nelson and Fintan Dooley. ~~~ This fall, StoryCorps celebrates its 10-year anniversary, and on October 21st, Dave Isay releases “Ties That Bind: Stories of Love and Gratitude from the First Ten Years of StoryCorps. Remarkable and moving, the conversations collected in “Ties That Bind” are a testament to the transformational power of listening. ~~~ “Stand Up ND,” is a multimedia/radio project, to look at all aspects of bullying. Today’s segment from producer Meg Luther Lindholm is called “Coaching Boys into Men.” ~~~ Commentary from Bruce Berg: “No Spit.”
