Rural Lawyer Shortage ~ News Chat ~ Review: “Enders Game”

  Friday, November 8 – 21 of North Dakota’s 53 counties have fewer than four attorneys. And four counties have none! To address the shortage, a new effort is underway intended to demonstrate the benefits for an attorney of living and working in small communities. Joining us is Kathryn Rand, dean of the University of North Dakota School of Law; and Judge James Hovey, Southeast Judicial District, New Rockford. ~~~ A preview of tonight’s Prairie Pulse television show. John Harris visits with Darlene Ellefson, winner of the national lefse bake-off, and author of “Illustrated Instructions for Making Lefse.” Also in tonight’s show, the story of Chief Four Bears – both of them! Prairie Public’s Kim Stenehjem produced the story, which features Marilyn Hudson, administrator of Three Tribes Museum. ~~~ News director Dave Thompson stops by to discuss the latest headlines. ~~~ Guest movie reviewer Tony Tilton comments on “Enders Game.”
