Delhi India
The first family that we spent some time with in Delhi was the Sharma Family.
The family of four lives in a three bedroom flat in the Raj Garden section of the city.
It is about a 45-minute trip to their house from our hotel, mostly due to the traffic. Both mom Lata and dad Atul are doctors. Lata is a cosmetic surgeon. Atul is a counselor. They share a suite of offices in a building about ¼ mile from their flat.
Sharad is the oldest son. In August he’ll journey to South Carolina to attend Clemson University as an IT major. One of his classmates will be attending NDSU next fall.
His younger brother Varun is a high school student who loves to play the guitar.
The Sharmas are an open generous family who welcomed us into their home and workplace with open arms. It was great sitting with the boys and talking about the young adult culture in India and how it compares with the states. Atul is quite the philosopher and he and Dan had long conversations about the state of the world. Of course while the men and boys sat around and chatted, Lata and the ladies did all the work. Some things are the same worldwide.
Temperatures in Delhi were 103 as the high and 84 for the low.
In the next submission you’ll meet the Handa family.
