Our State Fair: The North Dakota Experience takes an in-depth look at the history of the North Dakota State Fair from its humble beginnings in the 1920s when four different cities claimed to host THE State Fair to the decision by the 1965 legislature to award the official state fair to Minot, to the immense growth of the fair that occurred in the 1970s and 1980s. The documentary focuses on the agricultural aspects of the fair when youngsters from all over the state bring their prize animals to compete. It also reminds us of why the North Dakota State Fair is so special–recalling the magic of the midway, the grandstand, and those memories from childhood that never fade away.
