Six Prairie Public original television productions have been honored at the 47th Annual Telly Awards, which honor excellence in video and television.
“Shearing Day” is a Gold Telly Winner in the Pets & Animals category. The short feature follows a sheep farmer in Pelican Rapids, Minn., as she oversees the annual sheep shearing process.
“Lawrence Welk: A North Dakota Farm Boy” is a Silver Telly Winner in the Biography category. The documentary chronicles Lawrence Welk’s humble upbringing in Strasburg, N.D., and his rise to stardom.
“It’s Never Left Me” is a Silver Telly Winner in the Documentary (Short Form) category. The documentary shares the experiences of Minnesota veterans who served during wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Cyrus M. Running: Maternach Memorial Mural” is a Silver Telly Winner in the History category. The short feature shows the restoration process of a large mural in Moorhead, Minn.
“John Olesen, Glassblowing” is a Bronze Telly Winner in the Entertainment category. The short feature highlights the artistic process of glassblower John Olesen of Clitherall, Minn.
“Struggle and Success: Women in the Military” is a Bronze Telly Winner in the Social Responsibility category. The short feature shares the experiences of Minnesota women who have served in the military.
