Prairie Public hosting candidate debates and interviews

September 28, 2020Prairie Public Broadcasting’s comprehensive local and national election coverage will include candidate debates and interviews on its television, radio, and online network.

The live debates feature the candidates for North Dakota Governor, ND U.S. House of Representatives, Minnesota 7th Congressional District U.S. House of Representatives, and Superintendent of Public Instruction.

All the debates will be broadcast live on Prairie Public’s radio and television network, on its Facebook page, and at video.prairiepublic.org. The debates will be available to view any time after the broadcast on Prairie Public’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

U.S. House of Representatives – MN 7th Congressional District

Monday, Oct. 5, 7-8 p.m.

U.S. House of Representatives – ND At-Large

Thursday, Oct. 8, 7-8 p.m.

North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction
Kirsten Baesler and Brandt Dick
Friday, Oct. 16, 7-8 p.m.

North Dakota Governor
Doug Burgum (R), DuWayne Hendrickson (L), and Shelley Lenz (D)
Wednesday, Oct. 21, 8-9 p.m.

All these debates will be rebroadcast on television on Nov. 1 beginning at 11 a.m. and throughout the radio schedule.

Prairie Public’s weekday 3 p.m. radio program, “Main Street” has invited all the North Dakota candidates to be interviewed on the show. Ongoing coverage from Prairie Public’s radio news team will continue through the election season and is available on Prairie Public’s NewsRoom page.

In addition, Prairie Public’s radio and television network will broadcast the “PBS NewsHour” Presidential Debates scheduled for Sept. 29, Oct. 15, and Oct. 22, and the Vice Presidential debate on Oct. 7—all at 8 p.m.
