Prairie Public’s education services department has introduced the Prairie Public Learning Express, a set of two mobile trailers that provide educational resources to communities in our region.
The Prairie Public Learning Express trailers will travel to child care centers, schools, and libraries across North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. Each trailer carries supply bins for twelve unique learning activities that are designed to connect early childhood development with education. Prairie Public partnered with local educators to tailor the resources to help child care providers, teachers, and librarians meet Early Learning Standards.
“Not only do these activities meet learning standards, they’re fun!” said Linda Mork, Education Services Manager. “The resources are designed to empower children to learn through play, and we’ve already seen first-hand how much kids connect with these activities. It’s exciting that we’re able to offer this free resource for families across our state and region.”
Reserving a Learning Express trailer to visit a school, child care center, or library is free, and reservations can be made for one or two weeks at a time. A Prairie Public staff member will bring the Learning Express trailer to the facility, and pick it up after the reservation is complete.
