Fargo, N.D., June 7, 2021—Prairie Public original productions have been honored at the 42nd annual Telly Awards.
Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions, and is one of the most sought-after awards in the television, commercial and video industry. The competition receives more than 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many countries.
Prairie Public’s documentary short "Mandy Groom: Alcohol Ink Artist" was honored with a Gold Telly. It shows how this artist from Glyndon, Minn., uses drops of ink and blasts of air to create colorful works of art.
"The Northwest Angle: Minnesota’s Best Kept Secret" was honored with a Silver Telly. The documentary tours this landscape full of rich history, breathtaking views and recreation for both sportsmen and families.
"Wild Rice" was honored with a Bronze Telly. The documentary short travels to the White Earth Reservation where Winona LaDuke, a ricer her entire life, demonstrates the process of harvesting wild rice and describes what it means to the people of the region.
