February 5, 2026 (Fargo, ND) — Prairie Public is setting its most ambitious goal yet for Giving Hearts Day, aiming to raise $500,000 during this year’s community-wide day of giving on February 12.
Thanks to the generosity of Prairie Public members, every donation made during Giving Hearts Day will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000, doubling the impact of each gift and helping Prairie Public reach this historic milestone.
"We're deeply grateful to the 29 individuals who contributed to this matching gift," said Prairie Public President & CEO John Harris. "Their contributions will encourage others to donate, and help make this our biggest Giving Hearts Day to date."
For Prairie Public, the day represents a critical opportunity to raise funds in light of the recent loss of federal funding for public media.
“Member support is more important than ever,” said Harris. “It powers everything we do — from trusted local news to stories that celebrate our region’s history and culture, as well as the community events and educational services we provide.”
Giving Hearts Day brings together thousands of donors across the region to support nonprofit organizations. Donations to Prairie Public can be made now through February 12, 2026, at prairiepublic.org/givingheartsday.
