Prairie Public invites the public to a free premiere event at the Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes featuring two original documentaries about veterans, followed by a panel discussion.
At 7 p.m., “It’s Never Left Me” shares the experiences of Minnesota veterans who served during wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and how they have adjusted to post-war civilian life. Then, at 7:30 p.m., “Wounded” shows veterans experiencing healing, therapy, and camaraderie through outdoor activities in Minnesota.
Following the screening of both films, Prairie Public producer Matt Olien will moderate a panel discussion with regional veterans and veteran services professionals.
“Wounded” will air on Prairie Public on May 15 at 8:30 p.m., and “It’s Never Left Me” will air on May 22 at 8:30 p.m. Both films are made possible with funding from the Minnesota Legacy Amendment's Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
