Prairie Public will host a free film screening of “Manzanar, Diverted: When Water Becomes Dust” at the North Dakota Heritage Center. The free event is Sunday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m.
The film, a “special selection” and award winner at numerous film festivals, follows the story of intergenerational women from Native American, Japanese American and rancher communities who form an unexpected alliance to defend their land and water resources.
The January 8 film screening will be followed by a short panel discussion moderated by Alicia Hegland-Thorpe.
This program is made possible through a partnership with Prairie Public and a grant from American Documentary/POV, with funding provided by the Open Society Foundations. The event is supported by Prairie Public and the State Heritage Society of North Dakota.
