BISMARCK, N.D. – Prairie Public will host free preview screenings of the upcoming PBS documentary series The American Revolution at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck on Sunday, November 2, beginning at 1 p.m.
The screenings are part of the ND250 Kickoff Event, celebrating North Dakota’s official commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
A 30-minute preview reel will be shown at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. in Lecture Room B. Admission is free and open to the public.
“The American Revolution” is a new six-part, 12-hour documentary series that explores the nation’s founding struggle and the eight-year War for Independence. The series premieres on Prairie Public on Sunday, November 16, and will air for six consecutive nights, through Friday, November 21, at 7 p.m. Viewers can also stream the full series beginning November 16 at PBS.org and on the PBS app.
The much-anticipated series was directed and produced by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt, and written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward. The filmmakers and PBS planned the broadcast to coincide with 2025, marking 250 years since the start of the Revolutionary War in the spring of 1775, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence.
