Atomic People

Witness the firsthand testimony of some of the last “Hibakusha,” the term for atomic survivors, who were just children when the bombs were dropped. Through devastating personal recollections and archival footage, this is an invaluable record of the only people left on Earth to have survived a nuclear bomb.

American Experience | Victory in the Pacific

This two-hour documentary, which first aired in 2005 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII, examines the final months of the war from the perspectives of the Japanese and American civilians and soldiers. The special provides a glimpse into the decision-making in the waning months of the war for both sides.

Pompeii: The New Dig | Episode 4

The latest findings as the biggest archaeological dig in Pompeii for a generation reaches its climax. 

Told through the drama of the dig and stylized, fresco-inspired animations, Pompeii: The New Dig's fourth episode continues to paint a vivid picture of what life was like in Pompeii, as well as the horror faced by the residents as the volcano erupted in AD 79.
